The reason for aged wood to become darker or greyish is a sign that it was exposed to weather elements and the sun’s ultraviolet radiance. The wood is colored only on surface. The milling and planning operations contribute to eliminate any trace of that effect of time. Remaining strong and sound during all those years and having preserved all its initial properties, this recuperated wood will withstand just as well as a new one all the mechanical constraints that it could be imposed to.
