RECOVERY OF TREATED WOOD
Trèd’si offers a comprehensive and eco-friendly solution to treated wood disposal. Given that burying treated wood poses an environmental risk and that legislation is currently under development to prohibit this practice, Trèd’si’s expertise makes it possible to offer an effective alternative that yields economic, corporate, and environmental benefits.
Here are some examples of materials recovered by Trèd’si:
• utility and telephone poles;
• railroad ties;
• treated wood from construction, renovation, or demolition work;
• guard rails;
Trèd’si’s wood chippers are sturdy enough to create woodchips from wood products that contain metal parts. The company’s specialized equipment has the capacity to produce coarse (0-6 inch) as well as fine woodchips (0-2 inch).
Trèd’si’s wood chippers are also mobile, and are available to provide shredding services at your site. Trèd’si also handles shredding at its Westbury plant.
Trèd’si sells woodchips made by shredding treated wood at the end of its serviceable life. The high calorific value of this type of material makes it highly sought-after to fuel syngas production plants (methanol/cellulosic ethanol) such as Enerkem Technologie, and to produce energy, as in cement plants.
The company processes a high volume of treated wood for resale to its clientele. Analyses indicating the content of contaminants found in woodchips are also available upon request.
